Edinburgh

Yesterday:
After updating our blog yesterday afternoon, we took a 4 hour nap in our hostel, then got up and roamed around the "Royal Mile," visiting some of the souvenir shops.

THEN.... we went down into the very scary vaults of Edinburgh where all the GHOSTS live. Zach was convinced that the tale of the little ghost boy holding a lady's hand was going to happen to me. Our tour guide, Natasha, was incredible! So engaging and fun. She led us through a torture museum where we saw authentic instruments used for torture during the reign of King James VI. Natasha then led us through the vaults as we heard stories of random footsteps and bangs, a certain "energy" that soaked up all the heat around it, "safety circles" that the pagan-temple people formed to keep another kind of violent ghost contained, and a poltergeist that pushed and kicked people. Nevertheless, I'm still a skeptic.

Today:
We have been saying "Edinburgh" wrong. It is actually "Edinburrr" and we thought it was "Edinburough"... Zach thinks "it is somewhere inbetween those two things."

Good day today. We had our 2 GBP breakfast in the hostel this morning (the first time we've had to pay for breakfast) and weren't very pleased with our croissants and corn flakes. :(

We did another New Europe tour today, and we didn't have a cool rockstar for a tour guide this time... She had some super corny, rehearsed jokes.

We toured Edinburgh castle, and it wasn't as impressive as Windsor castle.

I am realizing that I am sounding quite negative! We are having a really good time right now just sitting in the Grass Market outside a bunch of pubs and watching the hen and stag parties walk by (Edinburgh's version of bachelorette and bachelor parties).

Zach and I are freezing and headed back inside to charge his computer.
