The gypsies tried to attack us again on the way up with their bracelets but were unsuccessful. However, my frustration with the gypsies was building, and I had built up some bravery. So, on the way back down, when Mr. Gypsy grabbed my boyfriend, I yelled, "Let him go!" He looked at me and said "F you!" and, just as soon as I turned around, poked me in my back. I laughed and said, "You are such a loon!" and his response was, "I give you THIS!"--holding up his pinky finger..... ????
This provided some entertainment for us and our friends back in the hostel as we reenacted the scene. :)
Later in the evening after Zach and I had retired for the night, the sky turned a weird purplish color, and it started raining. The rain came down and the floods came up, and then the hail came down and inside our open window!!!!! "Bigger than dime sized pebbles!" as Zach and I described them to our originally Syrian/currently Californian friend, Ronnie. Ronnie, Fredericko, Zach and I stayed up until the wee hours of the morning debating things like the concept of organic food and whether or not Zach knows more Spanish than me. ha!
We overslept this morning and missed our not-so-good breakfast anyway (not too much of a loss), and we are about to head out to Versailles and hope the storm doesn't follow us!
We miss you all back home.
PS
I wish I could add pictures of the beautiful things we've seen since we've been here, but the connection is too slow. :(
